Finishing double layer neckbands, button and buttonhole bands on cardigans 

When you finish knitting the band,  hang the stitches from the first row of knitting onto the needles that are in work.  Place your Stitch and Row Gauge Scale against the back edge of the main needle bed on the carriage side.  Push the needles back so the open latches are just touching the knitting.  

Manually knit off the yarn through both stitches on the first needle.  The needle should hit the edge of the Gauge Scale.  (Click HERE for picture) Continue across in this manner, moving the Gauge Scale as needed.  Pull all needles to Hold Position.  Bind off with latch tool from carriage side.
